Alexis Gives Birth to DMAR Royal Peruvian Princess

RPPRoyal Peruvian PrincessHead Shot

Alexis gives birth to DMAR Royal Peruvian Princess: This occurred on Nov. 24th at 8:13am. She weighed 15.2 lbs and light fawn in color. RPP is doing great although she is a little low still on her rear pasterns. This will correct itself with a little time. Her fiber is absolutely gorgeous. There are twists and crimp already and the ends are tight as popcorn. We are very excited about this little female cria. Her dam, Alexis, is doing fine as well. The entire 2nd stage of labor only took 8 minutes. Pretty impressive. I have noticed that Alexis is a bit more protective of this cria. She tends to start spitting at me as I try to get close to RPP. Overall we are very pleased. RPP sire is Royal Sun of Cienega Creek Alpacas. RPP is full sister to her Reserve Color Champion, DMAR Royal Knight.

AOCR Michelle Rose is the next to go into labor. Day 335 starts on December 10th. I can tell she is now feeling her last days of pregnancy as she is laying around more and is slow in moving. This will be her second Snowmass Incan Emperor cria. Remember her first, DMAR Nikoli, has been winning blue ribbons at the show.

2008 AlpacaFest West Results for DMAR:

What a great show. Tom and I are very happy with how our alpacas did and look forward to our next show.

2008 Reserve Color ChampionDMAR Armani is only 9 mths old and this was his first show. He won 1st place and then on to winning Reserve Color Champion. Armani is Carina’s first cria and Snowmass Incan Emperor’s second cria to go into the show ring and win a ribbon. We can’t wait to see what else this young male will do in upcoming shows.

2008 AlpacaFest West -1st PlaceDMAR Nikoli is now a yearling and has now won his 2nd blue ribbon. So far he is 2 for 2 in show winnings. Nikoli’s dam, AOCR Michelle, is currently up for sale. Her record is impressive with 3 offsprings on the ground and 2 of those offsprings have won blue ribbons and the other winning 2nd place. Nikoli’s sire is Snowmass Incan Emperor. Incan is proving that he has what it takes to create show winners. Contact us today to reserve your breeding to Snowmass Incan Emperor. View more at Alpaca Services. DMAR Nikoli is currently up for sale for $5000. You can view more information at Alpaca Sales.

DominiqueDMAR Dominique takes another 2nd place ribbon. I didn’t take another picture of her, so that is why it says NMSFAS.

DMAR Update for Week Ending 11/15/08

DMAR Update for Week Ending 11/15/08:

This past weekend was a huge success for our first time going to the Fall Festival at the Holy Trinity Monastery in St. David. Sales were up with both DMAR Apollo and DMAR Diego being bit hits with the crowd. Of course Sunday was a huge challenge with the winds gusting at 25 - 35 mph. This is the life of an outdoor festival vendor. However we had purchased a new trimline canopy tent and it has proven to be its weight in gold.

Tom and I are now getting ready for AlpacaFest West this weekend. We will leave this Friday morning with two pit stops on the way to pick up more alpacas. I can’t wait to see how our group does.

Alexis is now only 10 days out from being full term. I don’t think she looks as big as previous years, so I’m wondering if that is a sign that she is carrying a female. Tom and I are anxious for the upcoming birth. I pray she doesn’t go early and waits for us to return from our trip considering baby watch doesn’t start until next Saturday.
