DMAR Updates:
- Sadly after I was so happy to find out that Bluehost was able to recover my directory that I accidentally deleted it appears that the ticket was not closed out correctly, therefore another bluehost operator did another recovery but from an earlier date. Hence why I am missing all entries in my blog from July and earlier this month. Oh well, I am grateful to not have lost everything.
- I have purchased an ecommerce software for my online store. I am busy working on it and find there is a bunch of stuff out there that I have no clue on how to make work. Therefore I am driving Tom (my husband) nuts trying to figure out how to get it up and going. The process is slower than I expected, but I’m moving along. My goal is to have my online store up and going before the end of the year. In all honesty I would like it up and going before October, but we will see. I must be glutant for punishment, but I prefer to do things myself.
- Birthing season for Desert Mtn Alpaca Ranch is approaching quickly. Michelle Rose is due at the end of September/beginning of October. We are super excited as this will be our own first Snowmass Incan Emperor cria. We can’t wait to see the results. Following Michelle will be AVR By Golly Miss Molly. Molly has only been with us since July, but she has made herself quite at home. We have a break after Molly until December. Things I can cross off my birthing list is an oxygen tank (always good to have on hand in case you have a premature cria or even a sick alpaca) and Dr. Pollard’s lactation herbs. Tom will be picking up from Dr. Nancy’s office Oxytocin, Magnalax, Naxel, and zinc oxide (pink stuff). All of these medicines should be onhand for birthing season. This weekend I will be giving Michelle her 2cc of CDT so she can pass on the antibodies to the cria.
-National Alpaca Farm Day will be held at Desert Mtn Alpaca Ranch on 9/29 from 10 am til 4 pm. This will be the first national, annual promotion held by alpaca ranchers. Come on out and learn about alpacas and what is made from their luxurious fiber.
- Bisbee Fiber Festival will be held at Vista Park in Warren on Saturday, October 6th from 8am until noon. We will have Diego and Electra there to greet visitors. We will also have plenty of alpaca products for sale. It’s never too soon to start your holiday shopping! Don’t forget about your family in the northern states. Alpaca is extremely warm, but not heavy to wear. It would make the perfect gift. Plenty to choose from: sweater, ponchos, coats, etc..
- Fiber Artist Studio Tour will be held at the YMCA in Bisbee on Howell Rd on Oct. 6th and 7th from 10am until 4pm each day. DMAR will have a booth set up at the YMCA as well. There will be plenty to do in Bisbee this weekend as the mineral show, fiber artist studio tour, and the wine festival will all be going on at the same time.
- Patagonia Fall Festival will be held in Patagonia on October 13th and 14th from 8am until 5pm. Over 10,000 people visit this festival yearly. Don’t be left out. Alpacas will be there as well the DMAR store. I am busy bringing in all new inventory to be sure you leave satisfied with the products you need.
Well that is it for the moment. Plenty of things to do and I am always working. Please feel free to contact us at info@desertmtnalpacas.com or 520-378-3263 if you have any questions.
